So the question is, when or why should i have a survey?
There are plenty of reasons but the most common is smells, over 90% of clients only request a survey when they can smell odours however the chances are that they have a blockage so a general unblock will do. Here at the Drain Unblocking Company, we CCTV regardless just to be sure!
The other 10% of clients are aware of ongoing issues or are moving house and want it included in their home buyers survey, but there are more important reasons of why and when!
- Having a new driveway or decking, Its really important to have your drains checked if they run under a drive or decking because if you spend thousands just to have it ripped up again will destroy the strongest of souls!
- As mentioned a home buyers survey, almost no body has the drainage added on to the survey because surveyors charge a fortune, you can ask a drainage company to do it at a fraction of the cost. The best rule of thumb is if the pipes are clay then CCTV away.
- Subsidence, One of the worst words to say to a home owner, if there is a subsidence issue or you see dips in the ground then get a survey ASAP.
